Shouldn't the community guidelines be loosened in the polls and surveys category?

This category is home to many fun exciting and special Questions.Unfourtunatly the people providing those Q's are more and more faced with vilolation notices for chatting.To that extend an Idol of mine even decided to stop Q%26amp;Aing.Also a former friend,you know who you are,LOL,who's questions get better every day and who's very popular and brings fun and excitement on these boards is faced with this problem.What can we do to make it clear to yahoo?Chatting is very wrong in other categories but come on.Making people smile and feel good should be allowed.P and S should keep its character.I love to go there when i need relaxation from the political hardball.

Have you been reported to the Yahoo Administration Staff for no good reason? I have!!! People reporting you “because they can and should” because they don’t like your answers is just plain wrong!!! She did wrong, I’m telling!!! I’ll get him or her into trouble, hahahaha! I’m a customer, damn it, of yahoo answers, not my fault they don’t charge us to use it. Yahoo Answers are fun for me, just like going down to Dairy Queen and getting an ice cream cone. It’s a treat for me, but all that fun goes down the drain when I have to deal with violation notices and administrative notices. Then there is no fun in Yahoo answers for me at all.





I am a customer and although I may not be always right, I demand respect… these violation notices make my blood pressure go up, I get headaches, and I wait for the axe to drop. I write to yahoo, and all I get is a form letter. This is over a free service?

No, they're not automatically deleted. Each abuse report is reviewed by a customer care agent to determine the appropriate action. It isn't possible to "attack" someone by repeatedly reporting them for abuse because deletions are not automatic. Yahoo! Answers adheres to the Yahoo! Privacy Policy.


I saw a lady saw she was going to report me, and in 2 minutes, I got a letter from Yahoo.








I'm really ticked off with all of these righteous people who thing they should turn you in, because they don't agree with you.





What is a tattletale?


Remember the whiny, insecure kid in nursery school, the one who always thought everyone was out to get him, and was always running to the teacher with complaints? Chances are he grew up to be a yahoo answers snitch!!!

When a Child Tattles....


Behavior Description


This child likes to 'tell on' everyone. He/she's a chronic tattletale and will be caught up in some of the following phrases: 'Erin won't let me play.............Jason is copying my work..................Kim budded in front of me in line.........Ben took Evan's snack............


Every classroom seems to have tattletales but some children become chronic and telling on others is a frequent occurrence. This child often uses tattling as a form of threatening other children. For instance: 'I'll tell on you if you don't let me play with you.'


Why?


The child who tattletales is usually seeking attention, this child needs to know the difference between appropriate 'telling on somebody' and when it isn't appropriate to tell. Tattletales do so as it gives them a sense of power.


Try and determine what the child's needs are that makes him/her want to seek attention in this fashion. Usually a tattletale has a self-esteem issue, when they tattle, somebody listens and they are gaining the attention they seek which often makes them feel important.


Interventions


Dealing with a tattletale can be tricky. Usually the tattle tale is aware of the routines and rules to be followed and tells on a child that isn't following them. This gives them the opportunity to 'look good' so to speak. It is important to listen to the tattletale, but equally so, the child needs to try and solve the problem on their own. Prompt the child as to how they could resolve the issue.


A one to one with the tattletale is also a helpful method. Remember - acknowledge that the child knows the rules/procedures but that there's a better method of dealing than becoming a tattletale. Always remind the child that there is a place for tattling and it is when a child is in danger or in trouble, for older children it could mean being involved in something illegal.


If the child is a tattle tale because it give him/her a sense of power, you could give him leadership opportunities to help deal with the tattling, focus on the child's strengths and downplay the weaknesses.


Teach the child through role playing, the value of knowing when to tattle and how to solve their own problems instead of tattling. This will take time and will require you to put some scenarios together for practice.


Children should understand the hurtful consequences of tattling and whenever possible, they should apologize for inappropriate tattling.


Children need to be part of the solution and or consequences. Always ask them how they could have resolved the issue instead of tattling.


Avoid lectures and quick irrational decisions. E.g., if you tattle again, you'll be grounded for a year! or you'll have 6 detentions"


Sometimes a tattletale always seems to 'tell on' the same child. In this case, encourage the child to find something positive to say about the child.

Here is a suggestion for the Yahoo Team about these violation notices that are being sent out. Instead of sending a violation notice every time someone doesn't like your answer, why don't you guys set your computers, so if someone gets 3 violations instead of one, on the same question, then send a notice out. That’s what computers are for. One person complaining, it’s probably a tattletale, 3 means it’s probably a serious issue. Do something about all these violation notices going out. Another suggestion is: don't send a violation notice out from yahoo until a human has actually read it. If you all will do that, then I will tell you what an excellent job you are doing!!!
Reply:The whole thing needs to be loosened. You can have racists on here, but if I call one an asshole, I get removed. What's up with that?





I was just asked by a user (who won't allow me to contact them, what's up with that?) how calling a racist an asshole makes me any better. Well, I guess the easy answer is I don't hate for the color of someones skin, I don't' hate for their religious beliefs, I hate people who are asshole. And I'm going to let them know.
