Just for fun survey ~ Would you make a good nurse?

No because I would care way too much. It would break my heart to see little kids hurt, and older people in so much pain. I couldn't separate my emotions from the job.

I'm a registered nurse and I'm a little freaked out because the first answerer, 'lisa g', is also a nurse and has my former user name! It's still Lisa G on my 360!





To answer your question, I think I'm an exceptional nurse.





I feel naked without my stethoscope and watch!





I teach now...but, I'll always be a nurse regardless, if I'm practicing or not.





My area of interest has always been in hematology and immunology. But, I enjoy all aspects of nursing; nothing 'grosses' me out! ;)
Reply:Yes and No .. I was a nurse and throughly loved my job... until insurance made it impossible to do my job, I like most others got into nursing becaise i like helping/taking care of people. But it seemed like 75% of my job became doing paperwork and talking to insurance compnay on the phone.... Made it very difficult to do patient care.





Granted I worked in an orthopedic surgical office so it was different.


But all in all YES I loved nursing!!

I'm still staggered that we pay actors and actresses 10 x more than real nurses, to pretend to do the job in hospital dramas
Reply:No. I mean my mom is a nurse, but that doesn't automatically make me one. First off, the medical field isn't for me, because while I'm pretty alright in Science, it's not a subject I would enjoy learning about. So there.





My field is more in the writing/music/graphic design area.

Have seen everything from broken limbs to heart attacks so I hope so. Nurses do no get enough money for the work they do hence, I have never joined the profession.
Reply:Hospital nurse - Definitely not. I couldn't bear to be around that much suffering and death. My hats off to those men and women who do such hard physical and emotional work day in and day out.





Drs. office nurse - probably.

I would freak out, then the patient would freak out because I'm freaking out and the doctor would have to calm us both down!


I can't do much that doesn't make people happy- somehow, dealing with sick people isn't my cup of tea!
Reply:I work in a senior's home as a housekeeper multi service worker - but seeing what the careaids have to go through, never might nurses, I wouldn't want to do it.
Reply:No I wouldn't. I have emetophobia so I couldn't cope with people v****ing and I don't think I could cope with having to wipe peoples bottoms and I couldn't cope with needles.

Reply:Been told by my mom endless times to become eiether a Nurse or Paramedic ... she lectures in it head of dept... and our midwife at my daughters birth said the same .....

Reply:No i have no sympathy whatsoever, if my kids fall over and start crying i will tell them if there is no bone showing dont bother coming to me!!!

Reply:no I hate hospitals, do not trust doctors and couldn't take it if my patients died. I could be a much better psychiatric nurse though, have a lot of experience with crazy people! lol

Reply:I really dont think so. I cant stand disgusting injuries. It would be a rewarding job if I wasnt such a woos

I've worked as a Nurse's Aid.
Reply:I think so, or at least i would hope so. I 'm pretty good with acting on an emergency...I'm a lifeguard...so i have some First Aid, CPR, AED....

Oh and I hate poop, it's gross. If they crap them selfs I'd walk out.
