I'm a born again Christian.

I was a Christian for twenty years. I was raised Christian, but I don't think anyone is "born into" any faith.

I left Christianity at age 26 and became an atheist a few months later.

Reply:Greetings! That is an interesting question, and I would bet those that answer it will probably lay out the foundation of their lives.

For me, I grew up without church, but with a Protestant understanding until 11. Then I started going to a Methodist church, then later joined a Presbyterian Youth group when I was 13. I went to a David Wilkerson youth Rally and accepted Jesus as my lord and savior that year.

Two years later, due to a significant life change, I started my challenge of the Christian church, particularly Christian fundamentalism.

I renounced Christianity (even though Born again fundamentalists beat their chests to say once born again, always born again) in my twenties after seeing the lack of value God has made in my life. Once this decision was made, all kinds of fundamentalists tried to trip over themselves to try and get me to reconvert, including shouting that I was going to Hell and giving me guilt trips.

I continued my atheistic beliefs until after I turned 34 when I discovered the belief system of Unitarian Universalism. With UU, I can learn about all kinds of spiritual faiths and find both truths and conflicts with each and celebrate each discovery.

Hope that helps you. Take care.
Reply:My parents found Christ when i was 4. I grew up in the church and accepted Christ when i was old enough to fully understand. He's my Lord and Saviour and im scared to know what life would be like without Him!
Reply:Pagan ("Ecclectic Witch"), Convert

- What was your previous faith?

Catholic

- At what age did you convert?

11 or 12, to Wicca, 15 to a solitary, Celtic Shamanism based form of "Ecclectic Witchcraft"
Reply:- Born an atheist.

- Baptized Roman Catholic at 2 months, but remained atheist, as 2 months is too young to believe *anything*.

- Raised Roman Catholic; confirmed at 14.

- Lost faith at 42; reverted to atheist.
Reply:I am an ecclectic Pagan. I encorporate various elements of different religions including Buddhism, Hinduism and Shaktism into my practice along with Wicca.

I used to be Catholic. I got tired of the sexism and the hypocrisy.

I was around 18 when I left the Church. Couldn't be happier.
