I've been around since the internet first started. It is a wonderful thing that all the countries around the world can participate in such a great thing as Yahoo Answers. It's different to be sure. People are from all over the world, and we are able to learn from each other. UK calls a toilet a loo. They don't say may I pet your cat. They say I want to pat your pussy. To us that sounds nasty, but they call cats pussys. People from India learned english from the UK English. There are many languages in India. Different lives, different customs. Give the people of India a chance to build up their computer and communication skills. They will learn from us and the world. In America, abortions are available. There, it's different laws. Even their pregnancy tests are old and different. I think everyone should participate. I hate it when it is obvious that some one is from another country, and they try to spell and communicate, with their best english and people are intolerate and say stupid stuff, like u cant spell? And belittle and berate the questioner. I work extra hard one those questions and I think everyone else should do the same. People from other countries need our help and support. My question: How has your yahoo answers experience been? Is it fun for you to come here? Have people been polite to you regarding your questions or answers? Do they make fun of you for spelling or language skills? What do you think would make Yahoo Answers better? Any suggestions? Thank you!
Need your help and opinion, please! Doing a fun survey?
I think this is a great place to be. There are 2 different sides to this site. The first is very serious. People ask questions from Why is my 2 year old so bad.....to Why does my vagina have such a strong odor. These people are serious and post their questions under the proper places and are looking for real and good answers.
The second side is the more playful and fun side. This usually occurs in the polls and surveys area and such. The questions are silly sometimes....some are just there to quell people's curiosity....some are funny.....some you really have to think about.....
Both sides are great. I think answers is a great place to be. We all need tho to ignore the abusers. Try not to play into their games. They are looking for attention. I know sometimes you cant help it. Sometimes I let a good rant off at them. But then I don't for a while.
I hope this helped you. Have a great night!
Reply:Oh, gosh, I'm guilty of that... I wonder if you are talking about me... if so, sorry... I was just bogged down with things and I was in a pissy mood.
I just didn't feel like being tolerant then what with "nem" meaning "name"...
I apologize and I'll try harder.
Reply:My yahoo answers experience has been very good up until a few days ago. Yahoo has entered this annoyingly strict state to where you can only ask "certain types" of questions. Which I really don't like. Yahoo's new guidelines are confusing and stupid.
It used to be fun to come here.
Most people have been polite.
No, most people don't make fun of the mistakes.
I think what would make Yahoo answers better, would be to let people ask nice, simple questions that are not rude or disgusting.
A suggestion would be, to send violations to people who deserve them. Those who use foul language, are rude and nasty and those who post nasty questions and answers.
Leave the nice decent people alone and let them have fun.
Can't adult people take care of themselves?
I see that I've given you three of the same answers.
I am just hoping that Yahoo can go back to where is used to be.
Reply:people make fun of the way one spells. they call each other illiterate, moron, ignorant, etc... yahoo can be fun and addictive. but some people just don't like what you post and they start abusing the report abuse button. yahoo needs to get rid of that. your right about being more tolerant to others. no ones perfect. god bless.
Reply:My experience with Yahoo Q/A has been fairly good. I like to see the questions and answers that other people have. Most people on Yahoo have answered my questions sincerely and with thought. However, there are always a few rude/vulgar ones. A person tries to take the good with the bad, but if it is just too inappropriate, one can report it. Less rude people would make Yahoo Q/A better. Monitoring is my only suggestion and I think Yahoo does that as best it can with so many thousands of inquirers.
Reply:I've really enjoyed Yahoo! Answers. Although, recently, I've noticed a lot of vulgar and (to me) inappropriate questions. Isn't someone supposed to be monitoring that kind of thing? Or, are questions/answers only checked it someone reports abuse? Either way, I think someone needs to keep a closer eye on things. I really enjoy reading most of the questions and I also enjoy giving answers. I feel good if I'm able to give an answer or an opinion that will help someone out. As far as misspelling goes, all you have to do is click the "Check Spelling" above the box where you type your answers in. Sometimes, if people would do this, it would make answering the question correctly much simpler because the question would be more clear and easier to understand.
Reply:Well, I'm from America, so I can't really answer your questions. Except one. I think it's really annoying when people don't spell right on here. All they have to do is push 'spell check'. If they didn't have a spell check on here, I would understand. But they have it, so why not use it? It doesn't bother me when they use bad grammar, though. But when someone spells things wrong, I don't make fun of them. i just answer their question.
Reply:you dont work for yahoo answers so why do you care
Reply:it is fun sometimes, sometimes frustrating. u make a good point, some people are downright rude. just have to ignore it though.
